Original house:  28 x 44 feet = 1,232 square feet

plus

Garage:  23 x 24 feet = 552 feet (not air conditioned or heated)

Addition:

Upper level:  36 x 28 feet = 1,008 square feet

Basement:  33 x 28 feet = 924 square feet (and yes, we have three feet less on the basement level)

So our total air conditioned space = 3, 164 square feet (plus 552 square of unconditioned space)

The Waxmans are on the way to being a Net-Zero house – if not the first, at least one of the few in St. Mary’s County and Southern Maryland.
